AGIAMONDO e.V. is the personnel service of German Catholics for development cooperation. In the Civil Peace Service, we offer professionals the opportunity for meaningful service in cooperation with local development actors. The Civil Peace Service (ZFD) is a personnel program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. It is committed to a world in which conflicts are resolved without violence. Together with church and civil society partner organizations in Cameroon, AGIAMONDO aims to make a contribution to civil conflict resolution and sustainable, equitable development in the country through peace-building measures.
Cameroon is a country with great cultural diversity. In many places, however, social prejudices, conflicts over resources and a lack of dialogue lead to tensions. The Catholic partner organisation CDJP Yaoundé is meeting these challenges with a peace-building approach that focuses on awareness-raising, education and dialogue.
Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation with traditional authorities. As mediators in inheritance and land disputes, they play a decisive role in shaping social coexistence. CDJP strengthens their skills in non-violent conflict resolution and encourages cross-regional exchange. As a specialist at the CPS, you will support this unique approach through research, public relations work and educational programmes. You will work as part of an experienced team in the capital Yaoundé – well networked, in the midst of social change and with plenty of room for personal initiative.
